“The secret of getting ahead is getting started.” – Mark Twain
For me, getting ahead is important. I don’t expect it will come easy, but with hard work, I expect it will happen. But first things, first. I had to get started. Getting started encompassed a laundry list of tasks and of course, finding and locking-up our first customer.
As I put all of the pieces of the 4th Floor Creative puzzle together, many very successful business owners told me “getting your first customer will be difficult, but also one of your most important.” Fortunately for us, getting our first customer wasn’t all that difficult. It was however, very important.
Three weeks ago, I got an e-mail from the American Athletic Conference asking if there was a prize for being our first customer. Moments later, I received a second e-mail, a signed work agreement, officially putting 4th Floor Creative in business.
We are currently working on a video graphics package for the American and can’t wait to share it with the world. Meanwhile, I am very excited and appreciative to have a group instill their trust in my crew and our abilities as we get 4th Floor Creative off the floor.
I knew networking would be key in this adventure and am forever grateful for the contacts I have made along the way, allowing for this business to launch and more importantly for this business to sign our first client.
Somewhere at a young age I am became talkative, very, very talkative. My ability and desire to chat has helped me build a lifetime of friendships and relationships. Many of which I hope will help with this venture. I know it did for our first client and believe it will for many more.
As for the prize? Well that’s still TBD. Meanwhile, we are officially in business. Thank you, American Athletic Conference, we will always remember you fondly.
