When you start a new business it is very, very important to save money. When I started 4th Floor Creative I had a strong desire to have a formal office. However, a formal office costs money. From the jump, it didn’t make sense to have an office when I had a dining room table that was fully capable or serving as world headquarters 23 hours out of the day.
I am proud to now say, 4th Floor Creative has new headquarters that no longer double as a dining table.
Last Monday we moved into the Hamilton County Development Corporation in Norwood. Fortunately for us, they had a suite available on the 4th Floor. It’s perfect, houses our desk, computers, gear and a few decorations. It’s wildly more formal that my converted dining room table.
Being a tenant at the HCDC comes with many advantages, namely being around other people all day. While working at the house, alone, I didn’t have much face-to-face interaction with other folks. I was on the phone all-day and the mailman quickly became a close acquaintance during my stay at our temporary headquarters.
I sometimes wonder if the mailman now misses our late afternoon conversations, I sure do. But I don’t miss dodging leftover macaroni and cheese while talking to clients.
Meanwhile, we are up and running in Norwood. Our first official headquarters. Come and visit us sometime, we’re on the 4th Floor.
